About Us
Altera Recruitment Group Ltd is a specialist recruitment consultancy operating primarily within the UK, focused on providing permanent and temporary white collar staffing solutions to the renewable energy and water utilities sectors. While the majority of our placements are in permanent professional roles, we also provide a smaller volume of contract staffing, typically for project based or interim positions.
As a business involved in the recruitment and placement of people, we recognise our responsibility to ensure that we uphold the highest ethical standards and take active measures to prevent exploitation, forced labour, and human trafficking in any form.
Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery does not exist in any part of our business or wider supply chain. This includes our direct employees, contractors, candidates, clients, and third-party service providers. We believe all individuals have the right to work freely, with dignity and respect, and we are committed to promoting fair and ethical working practices at every stage of the recruitment process.
Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain is relatively limited and primarily includes:
-
Recruitment candidates and clients
-
Technology platforms and job boards
-
Professional service providers (e.g., legal, finance, compliance)
-
Background check and onboarding partners
We do not operate in industries with high levels of unskilled labour or known systemic risks, but we remain vigilant, particularly in temporary or project based roles that may involve subcontracted entities.
Policies and Practices
To support our commitment to eradicating modern slavery, we have implemented the following policies and practices:
-
Candidate Vetting Procedures: All candidates placed through us undergo rigorous compliance checks, including right to work verification and background screening where applicable.
-
Supplier Code of Conduct: Third party vendors, including umbrella companies and onboarding partners, must adhere to our ethical standards and confirm compliance with anti slavery laws.
-
Recruitment Ethics Policy: Ensures all placements are voluntary, transparent, and fully compliant with applicable employment legislation.
-
Whistleblowing Policy: Encourages staff, candidates, and partners to report any concerns related to unethical behaviour, including suspected exploitation or coercion.
Due Diligence and Risk Management
We assess risk in our operations and supply chain through:
-
Evaluating suppliers and contractors before engagement
-
Reviewing high risk engagements, particularly where third party labour providers or umbrella companies are involved
-
Regularly auditing internal processes to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas
Training and Awareness
We provide ongoing training to recruitment consultants, compliance teams, and senior management to:
-
Identify indicators of modern slavery and human trafficking
-
Understand how to respond to concerns or disclosures
-
Promote awareness of rights among temporary workers and candidates
Performance Monitoring
To measure the effectiveness of our anti-slavery efforts, we:
-
Track reports or incidents raised through our whistleblower system
-
Monitor compliance rates among suppliers
-
Conduct periodic internal audits of recruitment and onboarding processes
Future Commitments
-
Review and update our Supplier Code of Conduct
